Dr. Debby Wilson Danard (PhD, MEd, BEd) is Anishinaabekwe traditional knowledge practitioner, visual and performance artist, lecturer, writer, water protector, life promotion ambassador and sturgeon clan member from Rainy River First Nation. Growing up, she was raised with her grandmother’s love and commitment to sharing traditional Anishinaabek teachings and way of life.
As multidisciplinary artist and social justice education scholar; Debby has advanced cultural visual literacy engaging Anishinaabe knowledge systems and land-based learning to expand individual and collective community Indigenous visual (sensory) cultural expression.
She is the Matriarch of Indigipedia.ca #unceded knowledge which is a new and developing crowd-based database to connect with & reclaim Indigenous knowledge and living history, curated from an Indigenous cultural lens. The focus of this indigenous and digital platform is cultural connection, while supporting a shared vision of reconciliation.

Jacob advises governments, regulators and private sector organisations worldwide on the regulation of AI. His views on regulating AI have been sought by organisations including a Middle Eastern government, the UK Committee on Standards in Public Life, the Government of Flanders, and the European Commission. He has given seminars to the Chinese Government and Military on AI at the invitation of the UN, and also delivered training on AI to the judiciaries of the UAE and Singapore.

Melanie started her career as a Senior Information Specialist at Mount Sinai Hospital. She created, launched and managed ThinkFood! Information Cafe, a physical and digital corporate library. Here she launched a company wide automated library software system and intranet; and developed and delivered training for corporate employees to leverage information for competitive advantage. In addition to building and managing an innovation centre and library, she has written scientific articles, presented at numerous conferences, lectured at universities, and hosted a science radio show.
